With just under 2 hours to go…
In a bit less than 2 hours, Chicago finds out if it will be getting five rings, or just the finger. [UPDATE: We got the finger. No Olympics.] But last night in the pouring rain, preparations were being made for the live feed of the final presentations, as well as voting. As was done earlier in the week, the CBS2 jumbotron next to Daley Plaza was set to solid white. Perfect for worklight, or broadcast keylight. Here are some pics from last night.
The CBS2 jumbotron (that bright thing on the left at the end of the block) set on white.
All that light is from the jumbotron. Usually anything that bright is from a movie shoot. Trucks and satellite vans scattered on Washington in front, City Hall and Clark behind the Picasso on the right.
Setting up video feed and IMAG screens n Daley Plaza, as well as focusing the PARS above the stage (in the rain!). Again, the light you see on the banners is completely from the CBS2 screen behind the camera.
This is Clark street, between Randolph and Washington, right in front of City Hall (view from Washington). Closed to traffic to allow the entire section to be used for network satellite trucks, parked 2 deep the entire length (about 20+). Networks that didn’t get a spot here have their trucks parked on the surrounding streets. Again, that white light on the sides of these vans is coming from the CBS2 jumbotron a full block away. The stage/Daley Plaza is on the right.
